This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
My third graders always have a love of learning. It is my job as a teacher to make sure that they stay motivated and focused to help them become their best selves. I feel that it is important to teach them responsibility, how to be organized and to always come to school prepared. Once they learn this, their pride in themselves shines through and it is such a pleasure to witness. Unfortunately, many of them come from low-income families with multiple siblings and cannot afford all of the basic supplies that are needed in the classroom. I would like to do everything I can to help them overcome this.
My Project
Inviting meeting areas are very important to the classroom. they provide a place for the class to come together as a community and share with one another. Partners and small groups can work together and express themselves without being confined to their seats. Not to mention they beautify the classroom. Our classroom is jungle themed and it would be wonderful to have jungle themed rugs to match the decor! This will make them more comfortable during meeting times and excited to participate. We have had the same rugs for a number of years and this would be a great addition to our learning environment.
