This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

I am a Special Education teacher that currently has 12 students with different needs and to say some things on why my students are special to me will not be enough. They are special in every way and their learning environment has to be special to fit their strengths and needs, every special education classroom looks different. I want my classroom to feel welcoming to my students in a way that they have sensory approaches to everything and flexible strategies to learn new skills. I have been teaching for 6 years and something I have learned along the way is that students need different approaches to learn the same concept, paper and pencil and a desk all day does not look like the best fit for my classroom. Technology is a great resource for all

Students, but my students still need the hands on approach to some skills.

The items below give my students the opportunity to use technology with a meaning and know what a great tool they can use to succeed. Whiteboards that we are able to move around are needed because not all of my students are at the same level, one concept is often broken down to different levels. I need the material to make the best classroom for my students and meet most of their needs!
