My Students
My class consists of approximately 50% girls and 50% boys. They are mostly from Hispanic and Black ethnic groups and lower-income communities. There is a zeal for learning despite the circumstances that they are faced with. Some have emotional, social, and/or academic circumstances that are limiting. The ESL and students with special academic needs receive services in order to assist them in the learning process.
These students need to be prepared to compete in an ever-changing world that is technology driven and requires individuals who can represent any organization with dignity.
They want to be successful and are challenged to be successful.
My Project
We have been charting the course of an unprecedented academic journey. My students have demonstrated resilience but undeniably have suffered learning loss due to the lack of experience in manipulating the online learning platform. As we embark upon the 2021/2022 school year I would like to rekindle the excitement of learning in my new cohort of students. Student focused learning can be enhanced with the right resources in the right hands. I am confident that my students will be prepared for learning with materials that support learning while doing. Help me to make active learning a reality for my students. The students will use manipulatives in the face-to-face learning environment. Also, materials will be purchased through Teacher Pay Teachers for interactive notebook lessons.
