Help me give my students a DLI class where they feel welcome, know the expectations and independent in their use of time (timer/chime) and have rewards (Counters, stickers & birds- not edible!) to encourage their best work.
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
My goal in my DLI class is to make my students comfortable and excited about learning content while learning a foreign language.
Students in DLI classes are often shy to participate in the L2, so I need to encourage participation with non-edible rewards (counters for points, stuffed animals, and eye stickers for model students everyone should look at).
They should constantly speak to each other in the L2, therefore we have noisy classes, so we need visual & sound aids to get their attention back on track, hence the timer and chime.
I want to help students want to communicate while following rules and doing it in an organized manner.
