it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
My 4th grade students come eager to learn every day and deserve the best education possible. They come from all different backgrounds, however they all have one common goal- TO LEARN!
Distant learning has sent many of in the education world into uncharted waters, including myself.
When we are able to come back to the building many of our students did not. They still learned virtually. This means many of my students have not been in the school building since March 13,2020!
My Project
We all know that Covid has cost many of our children so much. Many of my students coming in September left school on March 13, 2020 thinking they would return to see their teachers, staff, and friends in 2 weeks. But the this did not happen. Many children were not able to return to school even as the world started to open back up. There was still so much uncertainty with the virus in April when my school opened the doors back up for students, teachers, and staff. Many families did not feel the time was right for their kids to go back into the traditional classroom and felt it was safe and more stable to keep their kids virtual in the Spring.
Due to all these factors, I would like to make my classroom a welcoming place for my students.
I would like to use these items for a"Welcome Back" gift bag for all of my students to be given the first day of school. These bags would be filled with the pencils and welcome back bracelets I am asking. The new seats will be able to easily wiped off and will be used to do small groups. They are bright in color to help brighten the room. I think this would help ease their anxiety of being back in the school building in over a year and a half.
