This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
Every Friday my second grade students “travel” to new places around the globe. We watch a short video and then create a craft that goes along with the place we visited. We need colored paper to make golden collars with hieroglyphics from Egypt, markers and colored pencils to create colored mandalas to celebrate Diwali in India, card stock to build Fox puppets from England, and green popsicle sticks and wiggle eyes to make caimans when we go white-water rafting in Costa Rica—just to name a few! All of the crafts can be created using simple art supplies (markers, colored pencils, and wiggle eyes) and your support would be so appreciated! My students say it is the best thing about school!
