This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
Our school has a high-need population in northern California with half of the students coming from low‑income households. Our school has no extra funds, we are without many things. Kindergarten is a time to explore and realize who you are who you would want to be and to feel safe. Unfortunately, almost 40% or more of my students are without many supplies.
As a teacher there is so much I can do, and there is nothing at times I can do, this is why we need your help.
These children are so thankful, so wonderful and all they need is someone to believe in them. Therapeutic play can serve in individual growth purposes. In childhood, therapeutic play serves both social and personal function. Children who have had traumatic experiences can work out their demons encountered by their childhood experience as well as many challenges and anticipations of the future. My students come from a varied of backgrounds and countries, I am so lucky be their teacher.
My Project
Inspire bright young minds to read!
My students need hard covered classic reading books and nursery rhymes.
I cannot afford to buy a magazine subscription for my class, nor can my school. With the outdated classrooms and no books at all, these wonderful books will be a welcome to my room and the kindergartners will thank you too! Thank you so much for giving your time or donation even if it is 10 dollars. We need altruistic people like you in our schools! This will be very powerful for my kindergarten classroom. In kindergarten, they must learn how to read. Most students come in not knowing the letters of the alphabet, but must leave knowing how to read. I believe these nursery rhymes will help my students to become the readers we hope them to be.
Kindergartners have to learn how to read before they leave to go to first grade (different than when you and I went).
Please feel empowered to know you will be helping 25 kindergartners in an impoverished area, learn how to read. Thank you so much for making a difference in this world and helping the children of our future. With love and gratitude from the best little kindergarten class in Northern California. Can you imagine a kindergarten version of Time weekly! How inspiring to learn to read using TIME for Kids!
