My Students

Non-fiction is always the hardest to get the students excited about however, it is the subject most tested.

My students are a great active bunch, who work hard to excel to excel at the standards.

I work in an area that is very diverse. We are not only diverse in culture but also in terms of social-economic status. We are also blessed to have a wonderful group of parents that are ready to volunteer at the drop of a hat.

My Project

My students need a resource that exposes them to relevant and interesting non-fiction stories. My students will read the weekly Scholastic magazines on Monday and have daily activities to integrate the subjects throughout the week. I am also hoping that the exposure to the vocabulary words will also benefit the students.

With your wonderful donation my students will have a weekly non-fiction magazine that they are excited about reading.

I have used these magazines with students in the past and they have loved it. I am even more excited that I can also use the Science Spin magazines as well.
