My Students

I teach the very best group of fifth graders in Oklahoma. They are fun, smart, talented and eager to learn. My students attend school in a high poverty school district that has suffered many budget cutbacks. Most students in this district qualify for either free or reduced lunches.

This is a rural community and there are not a lot of extras to go around for these students.

However, even with limited resources, technology and funding, our district, staff, and administration work extremely hard to provide everything our students need to give our kids the very best.

My Project

My students have had a unique opportunity through a grant that I have secured to be a part of a LEGO Robotics team. We are however, in need of some additional resources to help make this team successful. These LEGO WeDo pieces and Kindles will give my students the needed materials to push our robotics team to the next level. It will give them an opportunity to use the skills that they are learning in the classroom and translate those skills to the robotics competitions. These materials are a much needed addition to our robotics team. My students have worked extremely hard and are very excited for the next phase of the robotics competition.
