I teach fifth grade at a Title I school and we will be teaching virtual this year! Since funding for instructional supplies and classroom needs has been cut, I am hoping you can help!
Almost all, 80%, of my classroom students are low-income and living in poverty with almost half of my students being English language learners.
My families have very little money for lunch and snacks, so donating money for classroom use is, understandably, not a priority. Now, where will the funding come from to get the resources they need to become more engaged learners who feel valued? I am hoping you, a wonderful donor, are the answer to that question!
My Project
Teaching face to face with students is always the best plan, but currently, it isn't the safest. Our district is going virtual and that means I am teaching from my home office. I am in need of tools to effectively present information during synchronized learning so that students can "be in class" with me while explaining math, demonstrating labs, and increasing their reading comprehension. Being able to see me using a whiteboard, similar to our use in a traditional classroom creates a sense of normal for students. This is key for engaging students through a computer screen!
