Webcam and Other to Support Thriving Virtual Classroom

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
I teach a remote class of 36 Kindergarten students. My students love to learn and participate in our class meetings and small group sessions as well. I'm so proud of what a great job they are doing with remote learning. I also have about 175 pre-K, K and 1st grade students to whom I teach Art to, all virtually.
My Project
> Through Donors Choose, I recently acquired a large monitor with which I will be able to view all of the students that participate in my large Google Classroom meetings. Being able to see these students on the larger screen will allow me to engage each of them further in the learning, as well as monitor their understanding of content. However, I only just realized that I now need a webcam for the new monitor so that when I'm engaging with my students during live sessions, the students will see a frontal view of my face and not the side of my head. > The wireless computer mouse will support my ability to move between windows and tabs more efficiently while teaching. > This project required a few more dollars, so I added the special black markers that don't smudge that I give out to all my students for writing lessons. (Once a month the students come to the school to pick up materials I have prepared for them, to support remote learning.) Instead of using pencils for writing class, students use these markers so that when they hold their work up to the screen, I am actually able to see, assess and support their progress.
