Help me give my students sewing and weaving skills. These activities are a wonderful way for students to reengage with themselves, learn patience, and better their tactile, eye, and hand coordination skills.

My Project
Students will learn the skills of designing, weaving, and sewing! We make our own weaving racks out of cardboard, learn the weaver's knot, the art of making a small blanket, and the rewards of DIY (Do It Yourself). This is an excellent way to create concentration and hand-eye coordination. It also helps us understand the wonderful world of textiles and how things are made.
With the needles and thread donated, students will learn the art of mending patches in the ancient Japanese art of stitching sashiko loving something enough to repair it, and also making new interesting designs.
They will be asked to bring in their favorite garments to recycle with a new design.
