My Students

I am teaching Pre-K in a NYC public school. In September, I will have 13 students. Pre-K is the beginning of their school career and it is through play that children learn best. Creating an inviting and engaging classroom will encourage my students to learn, discover and build a foundation for their future years in school. My goal is to create a classroom where every students looks forward to coming to school every day. I would really appreciate your support in getting these items and helping to make their first school year one to remember. I want to continue to instill a love of learning, imaginative play and risk-taking that will last each of them a lifetime!

My Project

Pre-K is where it all begins. It is through play that students learn best. Puzzles are a great way to help my students strengthen their hands, improve logical reasoning, and develop spatial awareness. The wood puzzles I am requesting are beautifully colored and will help to prepare my students in a fun hands on way. In addition, the Weather Bear and board books will help my students to make a hands on connection with the daily weather. I am planning on making the Weather Bear part of my daily jobs. My meteorologist will have an opportunity to identify the weather and dress the Weather Bear appropriately each day. To continue to help my students prepare for Kindergarten the Rhyme Time Literacy Magnets will help prepare them for reading. These magnets have words and pictures and will be used on my giant magnet board. Finally, the Story Telling Puppets and the Story Telling Kits will encourage my students to practice their story telling while working on their sequencing skills and expressive language skills. I would really appreciate your support in getting these items and helping to make their first school year memorable. Pre-K is the foundation for all of the other grades!
