My Project
Representation matters, especially for middle school students navigating their identity and place in the world. My project aims to provide Black History and Black Power movement shirts and merchandise to help students celebrate their heritage, learn about influential leaders, and foster meaningful conversations around racial justice.
Many of my students come from underrepresented communities and rarely see their history reflected in classroom resources or school activities.
These shirts will feature powerful messages, icons, and slogans that promote pride, unity, and empowerment—sparking daily reminders that their stories matter. Students will wear the shirts during heritage celebrations, school assemblies, Black History Month, and throughout the year, reinforcing positive identity and cultural pride.
This project directly supports racial justice and representation by amplifying Black voices, acknowledging historical struggles and triumphs, and encouraging students to stand tall in who they are. Your support will help create a school environment that values diversity, encourages activism, and uplifts historically marginalized groups.
