it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
My students are loud and proud! Despite many socioeconomic obstacles, they continue to show up for life. Because they live in one of the poorest neighborhoods in the United States and have to face hurdles most people would quickly be disillusioned by, these kids need our support.
My students are aware of the benefits of education, and are willing to do whatever is needed to achieve success.
Their resiliency constantly amazes me, and I am honored to be a part of their lives.
My Project
In order to succeed in the math, classroom scholars need the basic tools of the trade. Having pencils, erasers, rulers and protractors available at their fingertips provides the fundamental instruments every successful math student needs.
Let's face it, an unwritten commandment in any math classroom is, "always work with a pencil." Because of your donations, my students will know pencils and erasers will be accessible to them on a daily basis the second they enter the room.
The metal rulers I am requesting will be available whenever students need a straightedge and are perfect for graphing linear equations and drawing lines of best fit. Additionally, the thick plastic protractors with highly visible numbers will make measuring angles easy as pi.
As they battle through life, having these weapons of math instruction will give my students a few less things to worry about.
