We Wrote, Now Can We Draw?

My students need 5 packs of picture story paper, 2 packs of construction paper, 1 class pack of colored pencils and google eyes to draw pictures and write stories about what they drew.

My Students

My students are always asking if they can draw a picture after we do a writing assignment. They love to draw and tell their stories. With picture story paper, construction paper, googly eyes to create characters and colored pencils they can expand on their ideas.

My school is in a low-income area with a high ESOL population.

I specifically teach 2nd grade with ESOL students who are beginners, Special Ed students who have a hard time writing, and Regular Ed students on various levels from Kindergarten level to 3rd grade. All of my students want to learn and have fun doing it, they love to write, but only when they can draw pictures when they are finished.

My Project

My students need picture story paper, construction paper, colored pencils and googly eyes to create a character and draw a story about that character. They will use the colored construction paper to decorate their picture and add various story elements in order for them to expand their ideas in their writing.

These donations will help give my students the opportunity to improve their writing skills.

By giving my students the ability to further express themselves with the creativity of drawing I expect my students to be provided with the opportunity to become better writers; for the completion of second grade and the remainder of their lives.
