Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

I currently have 25 six- and seven-year-old students in my classroom. I am teaching first graders in a Title I school, located in a high poverty and high crime area of Pennsylvania.

All of my students receive free breakfast and lunch.

Many of my students come from homes where English is not spoken. I have three special education students and two ESL (English as a Second Language) students in my classroom. Several of the students in my classroom have an in-class social worker.

My Project

My students tend to get hungry every afternoon. They also ask for snacks to take home everyday.

My students have requested snacks such as baked chips, lollipops, licorice, M&M's and peanut butter cups.

My first graders eat lunch at 11:00. By 2 in the afternoon, they tend to get hungry.

I am hoping to supply my little ones with a snack for school and for them to take home. We will alternate the type of snacks that they get daily.

Please consider helping my little ones get a yummy snack so that they can be more focused and happy.
