We Would Love iPads for our Classroom

My students need iPads to help provide a differentiated learning environment for many types of learners, and to keep up with our ever changing technological world.

My Students

With the ever-changing world, my students are facing many challenges in their future. They will be expected to know how to use technology in intuitive and creative ways. In order to prepare my students for becoming the innovators of tomorrow, I need the resources to educate them today.

I teach in a diverse second grade classroom in Utah.

My students are constantly questioning and investigating, and are beaming with creativity. Their favorite activities are those where they can have time doing hands-on activities of their choosing. They enjoy using technology at any given opportunity, and would love to have time each day to individually explore and research topics we are studying in class.

My Project

I am asking for two iPads to use in my classroom. By adding this technology to my classroom, I would be able to provide each one of my students with hands on technological experience daily. In turn, I can provide a better education for my students that will prepare them for the challenges that face them in the future. Students will be able to use these iPads to practice reading, writing, and math skills that is differentiated to each of their levels. Students will also be able to participate in fun educational games and research projects by using the apps that the iPad provides. I will be able to incorporate technology into lessons during whole group time, small group time, and individual work. This will allow me to provide a more individualized education for each student which caters to both their interests and needs.

Every year, many students fall further behind because teachers lack the resources to reach students on their level.

My students only get one second grade year, and I want to be able to provide them with an education that will inspire and meet their needs. I believe that technology is one resource I can use to help me differentiate my instruction and get students excited to learn each day. My students and I would greatly appreciate such a generous contribution, and would use the iPads daily.
