All of our scholars dream of being a cheerleader during their high school career. Our high school campus in New York City currently do not offer cheerleading. At our campus, the resources will provide the opportunity for more athletes to confidently participate in the program. This helps each athlete to experience a sense of belonging and most importantly to build the self-esteem that they need. Data has shown that cheerleading develops leadership skills, enhances team work and helps release endorphins which boost a positive mood. As our athletes’ progresses, they will be able to develop a cohesive team and practice much needed socialization skills. First and foremost, it will give all of our athletes an opportunity to participate in our program while we decrease financial burden for families. 100% of our athletes live in underserved communities. This program will enhance the environment not only at our campus, also as they travel to other campuses for competitions.
The cheer resources will make many dreams come through and provide many opportunities in the program for the students.
First and most importantly, this will give all students a desired opportunity fulfills their dream to participate in the program without mental overload. They can participate while we ease financial burden as they continue to practice to become the best they can be without the other distractions. This will enhance the environment at our campus and beyond. They can now brag they are actual cheerleaders and not just watch and dream of it on television and social media.
