Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
Most of my class is made up of SPED, ESOL, retainers, and the lowest 25%-35% students. Most of my students come from a lower socioeconomic background. Some may have migrated from a different country, and their parents may not speak English, some are just learning the language. Some struggle with different disorders/disabilities and may be easily distracted. These are the students that I believe need to feel the most love and get the greatest support. These are the students that may not have the necessary supplies to start back school. These are the students that people may not want to deal with and may easily give up on, but to me they are special. They are special because I believe that they have so much potential and with the right push, they have the potential to shine beyond what anyone could imagine.
My Project
These materials will make a difference in my students' learning because if they have on the headphones, it will give them a better chance at focusing better, even though there may be a lot going on around them since they are learning from home. They will have passages that they will have to listen to and answer comprehension questions and these headphones will be a great support in blocking out distractions. They will focus better on what is being taught to them, which will help them to succeed with assignments. The computer mice will make a difference in my students' learning because it will be a lot easier and faster for students to maneuver while using the online platform.
