This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
My grade students are inquisitive, bright, and enthusiastic learners. They are interested in learning and staying engaged in lesson despite the fact that they're learning remotely. However, distance learning has been a challenge for them and for me due to the interruptions of background noise and poor sound quality. A lot of my students live in small apartments or homes where they live with multiple families.
My Project
My students are 3rd graders who urgently need technology at home and in the classroom. My 23 students have to share very outdated Chrome book computers that often freeze or kick them out in the middle of distance lessons. Another big problem that we have is that students have poor sound quality and that limit their engagement in virtual lessons. This causes a lot of frustration to everyone because it hurts our ears when some students un-mute themselves only to sound like robots. These headphones will help provide equity by giving everyone in my class a fair chance to participate.
