My Students
Currently, in my classroom, I have 18 children. I teach First-Grade at a low income, high needs elementary school in Charlotte, NC. In my class, there are many students that need one on one interaction with a certified special education teacher, and I want to be able to provide that for them. Despite whatever struggles or setbacks that may occur beyond the walls of my classroom, I want my students to know that the interactions and education they receive in my classroom to be encouraging and optimistic. I want them to leave my classroom every day knowing that they matter and the experiences that we have counted towards them having a successful future.
My Project
These materials will help my scholars continue being successful learners, even while doing so virtually. My scholars strive daily to learn, but sometimes not having the materials at home hinders this learning process. The whiteboards and dry erase markers will be used so that they can show their work while learning behind a screen, which has proven to be difficult for most of them. The other materials will continue to help me find ways to support them while teaching, and also help me support families as I strive to give my scholars all the tools they need to become successful members of this evolving society.
