My Students

I teach over 500 students in a rural community of central Florida. We dance, play instruments, sing funny songs, and have a blast. My students are so caring and kind. I can't wait to see them every day! Their favorite thing to do in my room is play "Freeze Dance" to MC Hammer! We perform concerts for the community, and celebrate classroom successes and each other. These students go out of their way to help the students that need it and the teachers that appreciate it.

My Project

The chairs that are currently used in our school Music classroom are the same chairs the students use in their academic classrooms. They are not conducive to good posture for singing, they are coming apart, and are genuinely uncomfortable to sit on!

I would like a class set of chairs meant for sitting up straight, using proper breath support, and singing beautifully (a girl can dream, can't she?!?).

Chairs are meant for sitting, yes. However, the chairs used in Music class should be built for the task at hand: making beautiful music, with the proper materials, and pride in your school for providing the best tools for learning available.
