These students are in 6th, 7th, and 8th grade and are in our band program. Mauriceville is a rural fairly low income community. Hurricane Harvey hit Mauriceville, and many families in our community lost everything due to flooding. Our students are very hard-working, and they are dedicated to the success of our band program. Our band program placed 2nd in state in 2017 at TMEA Honor Band Competition. These students are success-driven and ready to get back to work!
My Project
Our band's instrument inventory was almost totally destroyed during Hurricane Harvey. We keep our trombones in our bottom lockers at our school, and they were all totally submerged in water for about a week. These trombones were ruined beyond repair. We are asking for your donation for a trombone. These will greatly benefit our program!
Trombones are an essential part of any band program, and we need quality instruments in order for our students to make quality sounds throughout the school year.
We have some very smart and talented kids on trombone that could take advantage of making music on quality instruments.
More than half of students from low‑income households
