Wham!!! Now everything is on the floor. Chrissy's classmates scurry to help her pick up her things after her desk has collapsed again! I come to the rescue with my trusty Allen wrench. This scenario plays out over and over again in my classroom every month.
My students are a low income, highly motivated, energetic, and very inquisitive little bunch.
They work hard everyday to make sure that they learn something everyday. They attend a Title 1 school whose system is currently going through a huge transition. With teacher lay-offs and funding cuts, there is no money to purchase new desks. My children do the best they can with what we have.
My Project
I am requesting 25 new open front metal and hard plastic desks. These desks will be used everyday to hold student materials and complete daily instructional activities. My students will be able to work on, lean on, and move these new desks freely. The possibilities with these new desks are endless!!
This project is so important to my students.
Every child deserves to know that their items are safe in their desks. No child should have to brace themselves for their desk hitting the floor. Please consider donating to this very special project.
