We currently teach a class of 25 energetic, enthusiastic, and inquisitive 2nd grade students. Our school is located in a high-need community. Over 75% of our students receive free lunches.
Our Social Studies Curriculum is all about New York City. The focus is on its history, transportation, and landmarks. Our second graders have so much information about the landmarks. This includes viewing/drawing pictures and writing reports. What would really complete the experience would be to see them live! It would bring the students in direct contact with history!
This is where the Top of the Rock comes in. Here is an interactive arena surrounded by windows in the middle of New York City! The students can walk through 3 decks and actually see the landmarks of New York City. This would be a great way to complete our experience with New York City history.
Your help will ensure that our students get a trip of a lifetime! This will complete our studies of New York City! You will make it possible for our students to see actual landmarks in New York City.
