This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
I provide all my energy to students who range from a myriad of disabilities and personalities.
Some of these disabilities include specific learning disabilities, autism, emotional disturbance, fetal alcohol syndrome, intellectual disabilities, and ADHD.
Most of my students require social-emotional and academic supports in order to access the curriculum. My students learn differently: they require many accommodations and resources to help them become successful. Nevertheless, working with our students is very regarding seeing them grow as a person and academically.
My Project
Distance learning has been a challenge for most students and teachers. Our Special Education resources are running out, and our students need new topics that will engage them in class. Therefore, we will appreciate reading articles that are relevant to our students. Our special education students already have reading challenges; introducing colorful fresh articles may motivate them to continue is a distance learning journey. Students want data, and they want to read what our surrounding is looking like, while at the same time they are learning how to read and comprehend.
More than three‑quarters of students from low‑income households
Data about students' economic need comes from the National Center for Education Statistics, via our partners at MDR Education. Learn more
