Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
As we have now begun the march toward the second half of our school year, my dedicated fourth graders are in good routines and feeling the thrill of learning and knowledge in some parts of their days. There have been breakthroughs for everyone, and it's clear that better days are ahead.
This being said, my struggling readers, despite their growth and desire, are up against the roadblock that is our reality: we don't have the books they need.
As such, I am requesting the purchase of a fresh new library of decodable readers to give my students the opportunity to finally begin to pull ahead in the area where they've always struggled the most: reading.
