Hello! I am a 4th grade teacher in a Title I school. I teach a self-contained class of struggling readers. Most of my students have been strugglers for years, and many of them have given up on being successful. They need any motivation I can possibly provide to go from struggling readers to successful readers!!
In the past, my 4th graders have LOVED the novel, "A Wrinkle in Time." They are intrigued by the time travel and aliens, they are drawn in by the amazing characters, and despite the fact that the novel is written on a 6th grade level, they read ahead at any chance they get, just to find out what is going to happen! Many of them have even gone on to read the sequels to the novel on their own! However, I am now at a different school, and I do not have access to a class set of this novel. I desperately want to be able to share this fabulous story with my current (and future) students, as I know they will love it just as much as I do!
I would love nothing more than to have a class set of "A Wrinkle in Time" for my students. I know if I can share this story with them, it will become "that one book" that lights the fire for reading for so many of them!
