My students need four metal ball chairs to give them movement throughout the day when sitting at a table.

My Students
Have you ever had a hard time concentrating? Don't like sitting in a plastic chair? Our student's struggle with that every day.
Our classroom ranges from 14 to 21 year olds.
The students all have some type of disability from mild to severe. Students work to go out to regular classes with their peers. Sometimes we have a hard time focusing on the work and need movement while we sit.
My Project
Everyone has a hard time concentrating at one point or another, but for a student with a disability it's hard to know what to do. Most people will tap their pencil or lean back in their chair but in school these tasks will get you in trouble.
These chairs have a low back rest and arm rests for safety. Students get to sit on a small pilate's ball. This ball requires the students to focus on sitting properly in a chair but also gives them movement when needed. The movement helps to keep the students focused on what they are doing and learning. The students are also working on core muscles that help them when walking and getting their balance.
There is one of these chairs in our room and it's made a world of difference.
The students all want to sit in the chair. With two more chairs more students will get the benefits of proper sitting, core muscle work, and help with concentration.
More than half of students from low‑income households
