This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
"Dreams are not something to wait for, they are something to work for." is our class motto. In order for my students to achieve their aspirations, they need your help gaining access to the tools that are providing change. My students are inspired by art, music and engineering challenges.
My students are an enthusiastic, eager group of 5th grade students who come from very diverse and economically disadvantaged backgrounds.
Our school is a Title I school. My students represent 9 different cultures. They are bilingual learners. My students are excited about learning and want to do well. Our class includes gifted learners, English language learners, and learners with special needs.
My Project
We would like to have an iPad Pro, the Apple pencil and a keyboard so my students will have hands-on access to digital tools to assist in their construction of projects. My students use technology to assist with assignments by creating final products that show elements of art, math, scientific concepts and engineering to bring the literary components to reality. Having an iPad in our class will enable us to create stop-motion animation and films. They can architecturally design and project trajectory for bridges and roller coaster building.
We also work on composing our own music scores to add to the production. It will also enable the students to work collaboratively on presentations. They will then learn how to project and present to larger groups of people. Providing us with the opportunity to have a larger mobile devices in our classroom allows our students to have access to the technology that is used worldwide and give them the chance to explore and demonstrate their abilities
Your donations to our iPad project will be a benefit to our students.
The majority of our students have only had access to mobile devices while visiting stores that have them on display. Having an iPad in our class will allow me the opportunity to teach these amazing 5th graders how graphic art, digital tools and music aide in projects. My students need an iPad, the Apple pencil, keyboard and a cover so that they can learn to work on multimedia standards and projects and draw to scale.
