This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

Do you remember what it's like to be a teenager, trying to figure out who you are and how to navigate the world? Now imagine being an incarcerated teenager, trying to figure those things out. My students want the tools to help them navigate their thoughts, feelings, and actions. They want to grow up and live a successful life, just like we all do.

The books in this project will allow my students to be more in turn with their mental health and give them tools to navigate their emotions.

They will learn about specific coping strategies and also be inspired by stories of how others how overcome various struggles.
