This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
Students learn best when they are actively engaged in the learning process. Math is OK for some, but by providing your students with materials that are hands-on you can captivate your students and make it fun for everyone!
I teach in an elementary school in southern California.
Most of our students at the school where I teach qualify for free or reduced lunch, including my future students. I will be teaching second grade to a group of students that are eager and ready to learn.
My Project
Math can be easy or at least OK for many, but most students need materials that are both engaging and fun to ease the learning process. The take it to your seat learning games and activity sets will enable my students to make a connection between the lessons that are being taught and their own learning. Students will be provided with hands-on materials that can be used independently, with a partner, with a group or with the teacher. Games will be introduced after lessons are taught to make it user friendly for my students. The Math Facts pocket chart will help students make a connection between numbers and their corresponding addition and subtraction families.
You can make a difference for my students by providing them with the hands-on learning materials and games that they need to make abstract math concepts more concrete and best of all fun!
