We are a Title 1 school with students from very diverse backgrounds. Our Athletics program includes 85% of our student population.
Our most popular sport is softball, and our softball team is the shining light of our school.
They have developed their own culture of leadership, accountability, having each other's backs, and competitive excellence. They are the hardest working group at the school. They represent themselves and our school in a first-class manner always and consistently. Throughout all the adversity that comes with the somewhat transient nature of a charter school and the growing pains of a new high school, the softball program is the one program at our school that has maintained.
My Project
Texas weather is volatile, and rain and an Arctic front can blow through at any time. We had bought the team hoodies last year. However, our school district decided this year to make hoodies against the school dress code. So now, we need protection from the elements.
Therefore, as an outdoor sport, our softball team is in dire need of jackets to protect us from the wind, rain, and other elements.
Please help provide some dryness and warmth for the girls this winter and spring by donating to our project and we will buy jackets for the team, managers, and coaches. Thank you for your support!
