We Want Flexible Seating in Kindergarten!

My Students

My students attend a school that houses kindergarten through 5th grade. I currently have 24 kiddos in my classroom that love to learn!

Kindergarten students LOVE to move around my room and love our current choices for flexible seating.

My Kindergarten students are learning how to make choices to improve their learning in our classroom. Since the beginning of the year, I have slowly given them more options for seating in our classroom. We currently have Hokki Stools, floor spots, and Surf Desks as flexible seating options in our room. We are ready to take the next step and add other components of flexible seating. Please help me give my Kindergarteners choices in their learning.

My Project

The year my students spend in Kindergarten, they grow so much. One of my goals for my students is for them to become independent thinkers and reflective on their own learning.

My Kindergarten students want more flexible seating options in Kindergarten, which include a low-level Flex Round Table and Wobble Cushions to sit on.

During our math block, my students are able to choose if they would like to sit at their table, a Surf Desk or on the carpet with a clipboard. My students love to be able to have this choice. Since the beginning of the year, I have watched children reflect on their own learning and decide where is the best place for them to sit. One child, in particular, said to me, "Mrs. V, I am going to choose to sit at my table because I concentrate more and don't talk to my friends." This is a reflection...this is what I want my students to do.

With the addition of the Flex Round Table and Wobble Cushions, my students will have another option to choose from when picking a flexible seating spot in our classroom.

Please help me give my student some additional choices in their learning!
