We Want Books for Christmas, Please!

My students need multiple copies of 9 books to have in their homes for Christmas.

This project is fully funded

I teach in a high poverty, English Language Learner, extraordinary school in Indiana. Our students are refugees from Burma and come without any formal education. They have fled political and religious persecution in Burma.

Our students do not have access to wonderful books at home. They often do not have any toys or enough clothes. So, parents cannot afford to buy books. All children deserve the opportunity to own a great book!

We would like to purchase one book for every child in our class so they can have a book at home. We have 200 English Language Learners in our school, this grant would begin the process of buying books for them.

Your help would allow every child to have a book. You would be ensuring every child would get to read before bed each night. We are teaching the love of reading to last a lifetime!
