This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
The Lu is an interactive playground that helps connect classroom learning with the physical skills in the gym. I plan on projecting math problems on the wall for teams to work together to solve. When students come up with an answer they will throw a ball to the wall where the multiple-choice answers are projected. If the answer is correct the Lu system will respond with green laser lights and music to celebrate the correct answer. If incorrect it will flash red and sound an alarm. Lu also has spelling words and a word wall that we can use in a relay game. Students will race to the wall where the projector is an attempt to spell a word. If correct the next student will get a new word or if incorrect then they will try again. The Lu will also be used to hold Dances. The Lu comes with a laser show and 2400-watt speakers. Teachers can come into the gym and have read-aloud and use the Lu to project geographical places about what they are reading. Physically challenged kids who are in wheelchairs or need assistance can easily use the interactive wall with their hand, ball, or pool noodle. The programs that come with the Lu can be modified to our students' needs. The Lu will also help students choose teams, keep score, and countless other events.
