My Students
Our school is composed of students from many different ethnic and socioeconomic backgrounds. My third-grade class is full of 28 inquisitive students who are super motivated to learn. Of the 28, there are a handful of English language learners (ELL) who are identified at the lower socioeconomic level. My students get super excited when they’re writing fabulous stories and reading great books. There’s no stopping this group when it comes to learning new things! They are a fabulous group of kids!
My Project
Learning to read is one thing, but learning to love to read is another. My students love to read. They are inspired by good writers and well-written stories. After reading our last book study, many of my students who were non-readers became book lovers. Not only did they get to practice reading the story with me when they had their own copy, but they were also motivated to read onto the next chapters without being asked to. Furthermore, after reading the last book as a class, many of my students asked if there were other books that followed the same storyline. They wanted to ask their parents to purchase them. Your donation will help me build my classroom book sets as a new third-grade teacher. You will inspire students to become lifelong readers with these books and will foster the love of reading in students for years to come.
