My PreK classroom is a place of friendship, safety, learning, and belonging. As I work with my current group of 3 and 4-year-olds, many of whom are first-generation Americans or even recent newcomers to our country, I want to make sure our room is filled with things to make their busy days fun and exciting.
I am requesting a doll stroller and highchair as well as a play coffee machine for fun dramatic play and learning.
Some of my students come in not yet speaking English, and this will be the first step for them in recognizing common household English words.
Plastic balls and magnetic vehicles are always some of the children's favorite activities. Having these in my classroom will give the students a sense of familiarity, no matter what their experiences were before coming to school. These supplies are things we use throughout the year and will be much loved and appreciated.
