This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

The goal of Pre-K is to get students ready for kindergarten. I want my students to know their letters, how to write their names and how to be independent. Most importantly, I want them to love learning and to know that school is a fun place.

My school is a Title 1 school and most of my students come from very low-income families.

We are the only Pre-K class at our school and my students are a great bunch of kids! They are just starting out and they are so excited to come to school every day. As their teacher, I try to maintain that excitement so that they will always love coming to school. It can be difficult to give the kids a reason to be excited when we have very few materials for them to use and explore.

My Project

The puzzles will be used to help us learn our letters and sounds. The bristle blocks and gear builders will be used to practice problem solving and spatial thinking skills. The beading set and tongs will help us with our fine motor skills. The dressing boards will help us learn the skills we need to dress ourselves independently. The What's Inside Me? Apron, discovery tubes and specimen set will teach us about science and give us opportunities for discovery. The block people will help us learn about the different kinds of families. The tool set will help us learn about building. The carpet will give us a place to sit during our lessons. We will be able to learn and do so many new things with these materials.

These materials will make a huge difference in our classroom.

They will give us so many more opportunities to explore and discover. They will help us learn our letters. Most of all, they will help my students learn that school is a fun place. I hope that this positive attitude will help them build a love for learning. I want all of my students to be successful in school and in life and these materials will give them a great start!
