This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
Our third grade students are learning to be environmental stewards of our local Escondido Creek Watershed and greater community. Our goal with this project is to give our students a deeper understanding that the actions we take now can protect our environment for future generations.
We believe that our students are special because they believe that they are the vehicles of change in our community and through their research and knowledge they can play a part in making our world a better place to live in.
As change makers of our community, our students know they have to be the example to others. By having reusable water bottles they are bringing awareness that plastic bottles endanger our environment and ecosystem. The water bottles will have stickers that will have a message to reuse, reduce and recycle. The bottles will be showcased at our Celebration of Learning where our students will showcase a musical play called, "We Only Have One Earth". Through our student's research and the performance of the musical , our students will encourage and empower our community to be part of saving our Earth and protect it.
