This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
A typical day in my classroom is filled with group work, individual assignments, read aloud and movement activities.
My favorite quote is "the best teachers teach from the heart, not the book"/ I do work from the heart to help my students succeed and books motivate them.
My students are a group of diverse learners who have the motivation to succeed but come from low-income families who are involved in their children's education.
These parents cannot afford all the books that their children should have and they need to work to have a quality of life. My school provides many things but we can also use more help.
My Project
They will use the level books, non fiction readers and comprehension cards to become deeper thinkers and learn new information. Reading is also for pleasure on topics we don't already have. Children learn better when they have choices on what they read and access to new things. Everyone loves a new toy or resource, especially kids!
You can make a difference because then my students will have access to more diverse material.
The curriculum is constantly changing and the more materials each classroom has, the better! These level books, comprehension cards, and non fiction readers will help them be more successful
