This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
My kindergarten students are reading ready. Each day we spend time on letter sound drills, and blending sounds. The excitement of reading fills the air as each student takes turns leading their peers in letter sound drill warm-ups. All of my students find joy in reading books and taking picture walks. Observing books is one of their favorite things to do as our reading skills grow.
The phonics reading books will give my kindergarten students their own set of books that will allow them to blend cvc words and build reading fluency.
These books with familiar themes will engage my students and keep them motivated to become life long learners.
