This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
Our school has a wonderful selection of books for our students, but we need to be able to send books home with our students for appropriate reading practice. Our families are responsible and motivated, but lacking the resources to provide their children with just right reading at home.
My students are really excited about reading, but unfortunately, their parents are not able to provide materials at home.
In order to help our students grow in reading, we would like to provide them with classroom books that can be taken home and brought back to school each week. Our students live in poverty and we feel it is our responsibility to supply these books to our students to level the playing field. We have brilliant and motivated children who just need the extra support of this project.
My Project
We need several books across the reading levels of the primary grades to help us independently read about our world. These essential resources will bridge the gap between reading and learning at school and at home. By providing take-home text to our students, donors are supplying our children with the gift of current, engaging text, which most of our families cannot afford.
Won't you please help my students learn and grow?
I have 20 little authors, scientists, and explorers, who want to discover all the world has to offer through reading. Your gift will not only help our students learn to read, but this project will show families how wonderful books can be at home.
