My Students
It seems as though we have a family of gophers living in our pencil sharpener!! We are desperately in need of quality electric pencil sharpeners. Our current ones seem to just "chew, chew, and chew the wood" like a hungry gopher.
I teach at a school that is located in the "Heart of Cajun Country." We have a diverse student population.
We have many at-risk students, as well as, being one of the host schools for students residing in local shelters. Even though we are a diverse lot, we have one common thread and that is to provide our students with the best education that they deserve.
My Project
With these sharpeners, our first graders will be able to sharpen their pencils with "quickness and ease" and not have to rely on the teacher to do the task for them. They will be able to quickly "get to the point" of learning. Sharpening pencils will not be a task that we dread.
Funding this proposal will help our first graders be more independent learners.
It will enable them to focus on their work at hand and always be ready to complete a writing task with pencils ready! Sharp pencils . . Sharp minds!
