My Students

It is a well know fact that most children suffer with reading nonfiction texts. Many of the state and national tests that our students need to take contain nonfiction text. We need a resource to help us learn how to read and understand what we are reading in nonfiction text.

My students are low income students growing up in an area where they hear, see, and go through experiences that most people don't experience in a life time.

They are wonderful, fun-loving children who love learning - they just need to have the right tools to learn the skills they need.

My Project

I am requesting 25 copies of TIME For Kids magazine. This magazine will help my students learn how to read and understand a nonfiction text. This will allow them to perform better on state states as well as help develop them as readers. Most children don't enjoy reading nonfiction texts because they have a difficult time comprehending them. The resources requested will help my students develop the comprehension skills they need to enjoy reading nonfiction texts.

Donations to this project will help students learn the skills they need to love and be successful in reading nonfiction texts.

TIME For Kids will help show my students that nonfiction texts can be fun and interesting to read.
