Young children learn best when they can interact with their environment.
My ESOL students come from a variety of backgrounds.
They are learning English as a second (or third) language. The majority of them qualify for free/reduced lunch. For them, school is a warm, welcoming, and safe place. My school works hard to maintain this atmosphere despite years of budget cuts.
My Project
My students need magnetic tape, Velcro tape, hooks, and sheet protectors. With these materials my students will be able to interact with their learning materials. I will use the sheet protectors to add to our ever growing illustrated dictionaries. The Velcro will allow me to create interactive games where students move pieces. I will use the magnetic tape to place items on our magnetic black board. The hooks will let me hang charts and games on the walls of the classroom for student use.
Donations to this project will help my students interact with materials in the ESOL classroom.
The magnetic tape, Velcro, hooks, and sheet protectors will help keep them engaged and make learning fun.
