My Students
A typical day in my classroom consists of students learning through the use of differentiated instruction, small groups and hands on learning. At the end of the school year I want all my students to be on grade level. My biggest challenge is not having enough technology resources.
My students are a mixture of Title I and gifted students.
Some students come into my classroom without the necessary materials in order to learn. Most of them do not have technology support at home to reinforce skills and concepts learned in the classroom. They are eager learners and always ready to explore other avenues of learning. My school is a Title I school located in a low income community. Most of the students receive free and reduced lunch. Parental support is minimum. My school has annual Title 1 meetings to reach out to parents so they are aware of all of the academic initiatives we are incorporating in the school.
My Project
The students will use the Ipods and Ipads to download technology, access educational games, and document their learning. The Ipods and Ipads will be used for independent learning, group learning, and to differentiate instruction. The educational programs the students will be able to download are Reflex Math, First in Math, Cool Math , Eduplace, Have Fun Teaching, and ABCYA. These resources will help improve and reinforce academic growth. They will learn basic multiplication facts, comprehension strategies, and be able to answer critical questions. They will also be able to access emails, Facebook, and Remind 101 in order to complete assignments. They will also be able to research social studies and social science projects in the classroom.
The cameras will be used to help with the technology club. The technology club is helping with the school newspaper, Family Day, Literacy Day, Workshop Day, Field Day, Field Trips, Broadcast Team, and the Year Book.
These projects will help my students will help my students to achieve academic growth in the core areas of math, reading, science, and social studies.
My students' lives will be changed through technological resources to complete assignments through other avenues besides pencil and paper. They will be able to communicate with other students outside of the building with the use of the Ipads and Ipods. The technology club will provide the students with opportunities outside of the classroom.
