We Need Technology in Our Raider Weight Room!

My students need a flat screen TV and iPad mini for the weight room so coaches can display plays and other important activities for our athletes.

My Students

Our five finger motto for our raider athletes includes toughness, hard work, communication, attitude, and accountability while remembering to do these things with a humble attitude. We try to work on the inside to improve the outside!

Our student athletes come from all walks of life.

We have some who come from two-parent households with no monetary worries and those who have one parent and financial struggles. All schools have their kids with hardships, but our students seem to take those negative aspects in stride and continue to work hard with smiles on their faces. Most, if not all, of our students are well-behaved, respectful, and mannerly. It is not surprising for someone to help pick up something that is dropped or to open a door for someone. They do it without thinking because they want to do what is right. However, a lot of our students were lacking the confidence they needed to excel in team sports. Our school got a new football coach this year. He saw the benevolence we have in our kids and felt they needed some type of visual motivation to help improve and expound their inner qualities to become well-rounded athlete, not just improving their physical ability but by producing a productive member of our society.

My Project

If we obtain the flat screen TV and Apple TV, the coaches will be able to display workouts, plays, team management activities, and motivational quotes in the weight room. If we had this visual for the students, it would help with leadership and motivation. We feel that in this age of technology, most teenagers are very visual and need that visual stimulation to get them going. Nutritional aspects of the total athlete will be included in the daily messages that will be displayed on the screen. This project will include both male and female athletes and physical education participants in the entire school.

Not only will the students be impressed with the technology that we will be using to get them motivated, they will also be able to keep up with goals and activities that they are required to do.

This will help them stay organized and help with the management of many students being in the weight room at one time. On occasions when instructions and workouts are not displayed, motivational quotes will be constantly displayed to help them feel better about themselves and their teams.
