Have you ever tried to start a project and realized that you did not have what you needed? Help my students be successful by supplying the basic supplies we need!
I am the Art specialist in a K-5 Arts school.
We are located in one of the poorest rural areas of the state. Our families are plagued by poverty and high unemployment rates. I see about 975 students for Art every week, from Kindergarten though grade five. All of the students receive free or reduced lunch. The student population is 95% Hispanic, 3% African American, 1% Caucasian, and 1% Asian. About 70% of the students in my room are learning English as a second language.
My Project
These resources are simple daily needs! The resources needed are things that we use almost everyday in 4th and 5th grade. Without the Sharpies I am requesting we are forced to constantly improvise. The permanent markers are needs that are truly needed! We need a class set of sharpie markers in order to draw on permanent surfaces. By having these resources, my students will be able to focus on their learning rather than supplies!
Sharpies are long lasting and they will help students create colored projects throughout the following course months. Can you help us?
I like students to learn about a wide variety of artwork.
I feel that many times as art teachers we get into a rut of drawing and painting but we don't think outside the box. I would love to give students an opportunity to explore this different type of art.
